Katy owners make the drive in on I-10 or the Westpark Tollway for ECM tuning, towing builds and fuel system work on Cummins, Power Stroke and Duramax trucks. The work happens at our Houston shop, and it gets done right.
We're not in Katy, and we won't pretend to be. Our shop is at 8840 Westheimer Rd in Houston. Diesel owners from Katy make the drive because the work that matters on a diesel, a tune, a fuel system or a turbo, is only as good as the platform knowledge and the dyno time behind it.
A tune written from a spec sheet and flashed in an afternoon is not the same as one written for your truck, loaded on the dyno, checked, and revised until the numbers and the drivability agree. That second kind of work takes shop time. It is why we would rather you make one honest trip for a real consultation than a string of short ones for a quick fix.
Katy is a big, truck-heavy part of the metro, and plenty of owners there are weighing a closer general shop against a specialist further in. Here is the straight version: the drive is real, but you make it a few times, once to sit down and look at the truck, once to drop it off, once to pick it up. We only build three platforms, Cummins, Power Stroke and Duramax, and that focus is what the drive buys you.

The trucks that come from the Katy side of town tend to be daily drivers that also work: heavy-duty pickups that commute on weekdays and pull a trailer or a camper on weekends. The work that fits that kind of life usually comes down to a short list.
Not every truck needs all of it. Part of our job is telling you which of these will make a difference on your truck, and which can wait.

There are two clean ways in from Katy: the Westpark Tollway or I-10 east, then east on Westheimer. The shop is at 8840 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77063.
The Katy Freeway is one of the widest highways in the country, with up to thirteen general lanes plus a tolled express lane in each direction through much of the stretch. If you are starting further west, the Grand Parkway (SH 99) meets I-10 near Katy. The Westpark Tollway is the parallel option, and it ties together the Grand Parkway, Beltway 8 and US 59.
Plan on roughly 30–40 minutes outside rush hour. Mornings and late afternoons on I-10 run longer, so check a live traffic app before you leave, and tell us if timing is tight. We would rather schedule around the rush than have you sit in it. Hours and directions are on our contact page.
Katy sits on the flat Gulf Coast plain, and that changes what a diesel has to survive. Out here the challenge is rarely a mountain grade. It is sustained load at highway speed for a long time, in heat and humidity that do not let up for months. Heat soak in the engine, the transmission and the cooling system is the thing we think about first.
The daily pattern matters too. A commute on I-10 means long stretches of stop-and-go followed by a few miles of open throttle. A tune that only looks good at full load, and ignores how the truck drives at 25 mph, is a poor fit for that.
Then there is the work side. West of the city the Katy Prairie has a long farming and ranching history, rice among it, and plenty of trucks in this part of the metro still pull stock trailers, gooseneck flatbeds and equipment. Each of those loads asks something different of a truck, which is why we start the conversation with what you pull and how far, not with a part number.

Katy is one of fifteen communities around Houston we serve from our Westheimer Road shop. Pick your city below to see how the drive looks from there.
For a tune, a turbo or a fuel system build, yes. Those jobs depend on platform knowledge and dyno time, and you only make the trip a few times: the consultation, the drop-off and the pick-up. For an oil change or a quick fix, a closer shop is the sensible choice, and we will tell you that.
Either works. I-10 east is the direct freeway run and its general lanes are free, but it slows down badly at rush hour. The Westpark Tollway is a tolled alternative that runs parallel. Outside rush hour, plan on roughly 30–40 minutes by either route to 8840 Westheimer Rd.
It does. A truck that tows in Gulf Coast heat and humidity runs hotter than one in a cooler climate, so cooling and transmission temperatures get as much attention as power. We look at the tune and the supporting parts together.
It should. A good calibration is built around drivability as much as power. Tell us how much of your driving is stop-and-go on I-10 and how much is open road, and we will calibrate around it.
No. The I-10 general lanes are free. The Westpark Tollway and the I-10 express lane are tolled options if you want them, and they are not required to get here.
Pick a time, and we will start with what you tow, how you drive and what you want the truck to do. We look at what you are running before anything is ordered or touched. Booking takes about a minute.
"They pulled my truck three times to get the tune dialed. Never had a shop do that."
