Friendswood sits halfway between Houston and Galveston, and owners here need a diesel that can handle both directions. ECM tuning, fuel and towing builds for Cummins, Power Stroke and Duramax trucks.
Friendswood sits about twenty miles south of Houston and twenty-seven miles northwest of Galveston, in a corner where Harris and Galveston counties meet. The name comes from the Quaker settlers who started the community, and the place has kept a quiet, settled feel.
It also keeps a lot of pickups. When one of them needs more than routine service, the usual choices are close to home or far into Houston. We are the far end of that choice, and we will tell you plainly why it might be worth the trip.
We work on three platforms, Cummins, Power Stroke and Duramax, and nothing leaves until the calibration has been checked on the dyno. If your truck needs that, make the drive. If it needs an oil change, do not.
Friendswood sits on the road to the coast, so a truck here is often a do-everything machine: errands on Monday, a trailer on Saturday.
For that kind of truck, the best return usually comes from the unglamorous work. An ECM tune built around drivability improves every trip. A towing performance package and cooling upgrades make the trailer weekends easier on the truck.
And for trucks that already have more power than stock, fuel system work is how the engine keeps getting what it needs.

Plan on roughly 40–50 minutes outside rush hour. The roads that feed Friendswood carry a lot of commuter traffic, so avoid the morning and late-afternoon peaks if you can. The contact page has our hours.
Friendswood is a town you drive through on your way to somewhere else, and its trucks reflect that.
Galveston is a short drive down I-45, and the bay and the coast pull weekend traffic that way. A diesel that tows to the island is working over flat ground, in heat and humidity, with the cooling system and transmission under steady load. Add the cool-down time that stop-and-go in town does not provide, and the work is more demanding than a spec sheet suggests.
The local roads are busy too. The farm-to-market routes that cross Friendswood carry commuter traffic, and that kind of driving rewards a tune that is smooth at low speed.
Clear Creek runs through the area on its way to Clear Lake and Galveston Bay, which is a reminder that the whole region is low, wet and humid. We plan for that, too.

Friendswood is one of the south-side towns we serve, with Pearland to its west and League City to its east. Pick another city below to compare routes.
North to Beltway 8, west and north around the south side of Houston, then east on Westheimer Road from the Westheimer exit. SH 35 runs north through Pearland and crosses Beltway 8, and I-45 meets it to the east. Outside rush hour it is roughly 40–50 minutes.
It depends on what you pull. A light trailer on a flat run may be fine, while a heavy one in summer heat stresses cooling and the transmission. Tell us the weight and we will tell you where to start.
Those routes are busy at the commuting hours, so a mid-morning or mid-day appointment is easier. We will work around the schedule you have.
It should not. A good calibration is built around drivability as much as power, so low-speed driving stays smooth. Tell us how you drive and we will tune for it.
Halfway between Houston and Galveston and a little way from our door. Choose a time below, and we will go through the truck and the plan together.
"They pulled my truck three times to get the tune dialed. Never had a shop do that."
